What this is.

Energy Stack is a reference for the UK home energy stack: solar, battery storage, EV chargers and the suppliers and tariffs that connect them.

The aim is a place that is technically honest, structured to be browsed rather than to rank in search and willing to be wrong out loud and update its picks when the evidence shifts.

How it works

Each section of the site has a current recommendation, the reasoning behind it and a record of what was recommended before. When something changes, that page says so. Calculators show their working. Articles get specific about which UK households the advice applies to.

If something here turns out to be wrong, fixing it does not involve quietly editing the page and hoping nobody noticed. The aim is to be a place worth citing.

Style

UK English. Plain language. Numbers with units and conditions. We try to be precise without being precious. If we are uncertain about something, we say so. If something is settled, we do not pretend it is still up for debate.
